Badly hit by
flak the crew decides to jump on the way back. Only one does not survive
the jump, the others spend the rest of the war in captivity
|

|
| The
B17 flies on and makes a near perfect belly landing near Brummen,
Holland. Partly intact the Germans gather the weapons and ammunition.
After they disappear the townsfolk gather whatever is usable and also
make jewelry from the coloured glass. |

After
the war the wreckage is cleared. Two pictures exist and were the basis
for the diorama made for the exhibition of "2000 Years of Brummen" |
